Monologue «Learning foreign languages»

-why lots of people learn foreign languages nowadays;

- why you have chosen to do the English exam this year

- what you did to prepare for your English exam,

- what your attitude to learning foreign languages is.

I would like to tell you a few words about the importance of learning foreign languages.

Firstly, I believe there are several reasons why so many people learn them today. The main reason is that international relations in various fields, such as business, science, and culture, are becoming stronger. As a result, companies need qualified specialists who know foreign languages. Therefore, people who want to build a successful career often choose to study them.

As for me, I have chosen to take the English exam this year for a number of reasons. First of all, it is my favourite subject and I am quite good at it. Moreover, I consider English to be one of the most useful and important subjects in the modern world. I am also convinced that a good knowledge of English will help me to get a better education and find a good job in the future.

To prepare for the exam, I have done my best. For instance, I have read a lot of texts to boost my vocabulary. I have also watched films and TV series in English to improve my listening skills. Besides, I have practiced grammar by doing numerous exercises. Furthermore, communicating with my pen friends has helped me a lot to develop my speaking and writing skills.

Finally, my attitude to learning foreign languages is very positive. I find it extremely useful and exciting because it allows me to communicate with people from all over the world, access information, and broaden my horizons.
