Mother Teresa (Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu)

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born on August 26, 1910 in the Macedonian city of Skopje.

At age 18, she moved to Ireland and there entered the monastic order "Irish Sisters of Loreto"

From 1931 to 1948 she taught at St. Mary's High School in Calcutta.

In 1948 he founded a community: a monastic community "Missionary Sisters of Love", the activity of which was aimed at the establishment of schools, orphanages, hospitals for the poor and ill people.

In 1973, Mother Teresa was the first recipient of the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion .

In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

She died on September 5, 1997 in Calcutta. In October 2003 beatified by the Catholic Church.

Mother Teresa devoted her life to serving the poor and the sick without asking anything in return. He tried to alleviate the suffering of the people. Undoubtedly this amazing woman deserves respect.
