Тема урока: «На страже Тауэра».

Цель: развитие социокультурной, учебно-познавательной и языковой компетенции учащихся.

Задачи урока:

  1. Практические:

Познакомить со столицей Великобритании, с одной из ее достопримечательностей – Лондонским Тауэром.

Познакомить с тематической лексикой и организовать практику ее употребления.

Активизировать употребление относительных местоимений и наречий.

Продолжать формирование навыков поискового и изучающего чтения.

2. Развивающие:

Развивать критическое мышление через чтение и письмо.

Развивать коммуникативные навыки.

Развивать способность осуществлять репродуктивные и продуктивные речевые действия.

  1. Воспитательные:

Воспитывать уважительное, толерантное отношение к чужой культуре.

Воспитывать доброжелательное отношение друг к другу при работе в паре, в группе.

Тип урока: комбинированный

Оснащение урока:

  • «Английский в фокусе»; 7 класс: учебник для общеобразовательных учреждений.

  • Презентации в программе Power Point «London Sightseeing Tour».

  • Раздаточный материал.

  • Ноутбук, диапроектор.























 ХОД УРОКА.

  1. Подготовительный этап.

  1. Организационный момент:

  • Hello! I’m glad to see you. I hope you’re fine. What date is it today? What season (month) is it today? What’s your favourite season? Do you like the weather today? Why?

2. Проверка выполнения домашнего задания:

- Let’s check your homework.

3. Сообщение задач урока:

На доске представлены самые известные достопримечательности Лондона.

Teacher (T): Look at the blackboard. What can you see in these pictures? How do think what we’re going to speak and read about? Yes, you’re right, about London. Can you name these places? Have you ever been to London? I suppose you haven’t. Now you have such an opportunity.  At our lesson we'll make a trip to London, the capital of the UK. This is one of the oldest and most interesting cities in the world. You will see attractive places and know the most important facts about the Tower of London and its guards.

         II. Основной этап урока.

1.  Введение темы «На страже Тауэра».

T: Have you ever been to London?

S: No, but I‘d love to visit it one day.

T: In London there are so many unusual things which can’t be found in any other city of the world. For example, double – decker buses. Let’s make a double – decker bus tour around London and see some of the city’s most famous sights from its top. Welcome to London!

London is a very busy town,

The capital of England with the Queen and crown.

You can visit the city and see all its sights,

Do you want to live here for some days and nights?

That’s the city with the London Eye,

And the Houses of Parliament which you pass by,

There’s a high clock tower called Big Ben,

And Trafalgar Square with the monument.

Elizabeth the Second is on the throne –

And Buckingham Palace is her home.

Visiting London, first of all –

Go to the Tower to touch the old stones.


T: Let’s repeat and learn the names of these sights.

T: And now open your books at page 31. Look at the title, and the pictures.

Have you ever heard about the Tower of London?

What do you know about this tower?

Who are these men?

Where do they work?

Предполагаемый ответ:

The Tower of London.

The men are probably guards who guard the castle.

These men are Yeoman Warders.

They work at the Tower of London. They guard the Tower of London.

 

3. Развитие навыков использование в речи относительных местоимений и наречий (выполнение упр.2 стр.31).

T: Read only the sentences with the gaps and choose the correct word to fill in.

Учащиеся самостоятельно заполняют пропуски соответствующим местоимением или наречием на основе выбора варианта ответа.

Ключи:

T: Please tell us what words you’ve chosen.

Учащиеся зачитывают предложения с заполненными пропусками и переводят их на русский язык.

 4.     Физкультминутка.

Up and down!

Up and down! (учащиеся поднимают и опускают руки)

Which is the way to the London Tower? (учащиеся делают повороты туловища вправо и влево)

Where? Where? (учащиеся делают повороты головы вправо и влево)

Up in the air? (учащиеся поднимают руки вверх)

Close your eyes! (учащиеся закрывают глаза руками)

And you are there! (учащиеся открывают глаза)

5. Освоение тематической лексики через контекст.

T: Now, let’s explain the words in bold from the text.

При введении новой лексики учитель использует следующие приемы семантизации: использование синонимов, антонимов, перефразирования, дефиниций.

Учащиеся зачитывают выделенные в тексте слова, учитель поясняет их значение, прибегая, по возможности, к помощи учащихся.

be guarded (v): be watched and protected (охраняться)

bodyguard (n): а man who protects other people (телохранитель, охранник)

duty (n): work you have to do (обязанность)

prisoner (n): a person who is kept in prison (узник)

guide (n): a person who shows tourists around (гид, экскурсовод)

raven (n): a black bird like a crow (ворон)

armed forces (n): country’s military people (вооружённые силы)

striking (adj): easy to see (поразительный, впечатляющий, яркий)

uniform (n): special set of clothes that people wear at work or school (форма)

formal occasion (exp): a formal celebration such as weddings, state ceremonies (официальное событие)

  Oтработка навыков произношения новой лексики:

- хоровое повторение новых слов за учителем (с опорой на словарный список из урока 3d стр. WL5);

- самостоятельное чтение нового лексического материала;

- чтение новой лексики по цепочке.

6. Развитие умений поискового чтения. Упр. 3 с. 31

T: Listen to the text, then read it and say T (true), F (false) or DS (doesn’t say).

Учащиеся в парах выполняют задание «True/False/Doesn’t Say», направленное на поиск соответствия предложенных утверждений содержанию текста.

7. Развитие умений делать высказывание на основе прочитанного текста (монологическая речь).

Т: Tell what you have learnt about Beefeaters from the text. Say at least one sentence. Use the text and choose the information.

Предполагаемые ответы:

These days Beefeaters’ main role is to act as guides for many tourists that visit the Tower every year.

They also take care of the eight big black ravens that live in the Tower.

Their everyday uniform is dark blue and red, but on state occasions they wear fine red state uniforms with golden and black stripes and a wide lacecollar.

There are 36 Yeoman Warders at the Tower and they are all men who were in the armed forces for 22 years or more.

They live in the Tower with their families.

8. Развитие умений аудирования.

T: Now listen to two Beefeaters speaking about their life story. Then you have to write the name of the Beefeater in the gaps.(Роль бифитеров выполняют учащийся и учащаяся). You’re welcome, Mr. Butler.

1. I’m Crawford Butler. I have been a Yeoman Warder for 17 years. The best part of my job is to meet people from all over the world. But keeping up a cheerful appearance for all the visitors is one of the hardest parts. It means you have to answer the same questions over and over again! Before becoming a Yeoman Warder, I was in the Army. I joined at 15 and served for 25 years. My family and I live in the Tower, which is “like living in a small village”.

T: You have just read that there are 36 Yeoman Warders at the Tower and they are all men. But now the situation is different. There is a woman among them. Listen to her.

2. My name is Moira Cameron. I’m the first and the only woman among Yeoman Warders. I joined the group of guards of the Crown Jewels in 2007. I was 42 years old then and I was a Warrant officer. I joined the army at age of 16 and I was a bookkeeper in the British Army for 22 years. I was selected over five men who also applied for the vacancy. And now I’m really proud of my new job.
