Олимпиада по английскому языку для 5 – 6 классов.

Цель : обобщение знаний учащихся по языку.

Задачи : 1. Систематизировать знания учащихся по языку.

2. Формировать социокультурную компетенцию у учащихся

3. поддерживать интерес к изучению английского языка.

Do you know that the word “school” is derived from the Greek word “scole” – leisure, rest. Nowdays it means the place of a main work for pupils. It started in Ancient Greece, where in the I century B.C. they started to build benches for rest , on which people could sit and speak. Then speakers chose these benches , later regular listeners appeared , so benches for leisure and relaxation became a place of discussions. When such meetings of “teachers” and “pupils” become regular , there was a necessity of creation of special buildings for education. Thanks to the traditions , they called these buildings “schools”.
