High-speed trains of the world
1. Train series Shinkansen – The speed is 320 - 581 km/h
Shinkansen is "new trunk" in Japanese is a chain of Japanese high-speed trains, which are often called "bullets" and there's a good reason - the speed record for conventional rail Shinkansen lines is 443 km/h, and the magnetic suspension of 581 km/h, which is a world record for trains. Today the Shinkansen are one of the fastest, quiet, comfortable and surprisingly smooth commercial trains on routes, consisting of sixteen wagons, overcome the distance between Osaka and Tokyo in 2 hours 25 minutes. By the way, Shinkansen trains are not only one of the fastest and most secure in 40 years of operation there was not a single major accident.
2. TGV POS - The speed is 320 - 575 km/h
Train TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse), which translated from French means "high speed train". The speed of the train during the movement on the commercial routes will not exceed 320 km/h. TGV POS owns the speed record for rail trains - the train was able to accelerate up to 575 km per hour.
3. Shanghai Maglev Train - The speed is 431 - 501 km/h
Shanghai Maglev – China high-speed train on the magnetic suspension operating in Shanghai. The maximum speed of the Express train is 431 km/h, which allows to overcome distance from town centre to airport (30 km) just in 7-8 minutes. In a test run this train has a top speed of 501 km/h.
4. Euro star - The speed is 300 - 335 km/h
Euro star or British Rail Class 373 – British high-speed train series TVG. The capacity of the train is 900 passengers, the working speed reaches 300 km/h, a record speed for this train was equal to 335 km/h. the Journey from London to Paris by Euro star train takes 2 hours and 16 minutes.
5. Peregrine - The speed is 250 - 350 km/h
Modern speed of the train is 250 km/h, its modernization will allow the composition to go with a speed of 350 km/h. Also Peregrine puts a funny record – it is the widest high-speed train in the world. Although the train is built on the platform of Siemens, due to the wider gauge used in Russia is 1520 mm, against the European 1435 mm, it was possible to increase the width of the carriage 300 mm, this makes the Peregrine Falcon the “paunchy” train bullet.
