Тема урока: «We are going to visit London».
Цели и задачи:
закрепить и повторить ранее изученные речевые образцы и лексические единицы;
совершенствовать навыки употребления грамматического материала (повторить глагол have / has got, степени сравнения прилагательных, времена глаголов, употребление артикля с именами собственными);
развивать навыки аудирования, говорения и чтения;
активизировать лингвострановедческие знания;
воспитывать культуру общения.
Оборудование: карта Лондона, фильм «Достопримечательности Лондона», карточки с заданием, доска ,ПК, проигрыватель компакт – дисков.
Ход урока:
1. Начало урока. Оргмомент. Постановка целей урока. Введение в сюжет урока (ролевую игру).
T . Hello, my dear friends. Look here. I have a letter. It has come from Britain.
Who is it from?
P. It is from our friends from Great Britain.
T. You are right. Last year pupils from London were in Kursk. Let’s remember. What did they do in Kursk? Where did they stay? What did they see?
P. British children came from London. They travelled by plane and train. In Kursk they stayed with their friends. They walked round the town, looked at the monuments, visited museums, took pictures. They saw picture galleries, beautiful places, churches, theatres. They bought a lot of souvenirs, postcards, books. They had a lot of fun.
T. Thank you. Children, what can you tell me about London? ( Учащиеся отвечают на вопрос учителя.) Let’s look. What is here in the envelope? It is a letter. Read it.

Dear Friends!
We are writing you a letter from London. Our summer holidays were great. The weather was hot and sunny .We enjoyed our trip to Kursk. We had a wonderful time there.
Now we are back at school and happy to see our friends again. In summer we made a lot of pictures and we are going to send some of them to you.
We are glad to invite you to visit us in London in November.
We are looking forward to your visit.

T. Do you understand what the letter is about? (Учащиеся отвечают на вопрос учителя.) You are right, here is an invitation for us to visit London and to stay with the host families. Today we try to prepare for our trip.
II. Основная часть урока. Готовимся к путешествию.
1. Диалогическая речь.
T. Imagine that we are in London. You should know how to ask the way or how you can get a place you need. Let’s remember some phrases and expressions.
(Учащиеся воспроизводят диалоги, как добраться до мест в Лондоне).
2. Повторение степеней сравнения прилагательных. T. We are going to travel to London in November. What is the weather like in London and in Kursk? I asked Anton to look weather forecast in the Internet. I want you to compare the weather in Kursk and in London.

3. Повторение формы have / has got .T. We know the weather and we should decide what clothes we’ll take with us.
Use have/has got.
P. I have got a raincoat.
I have got a sweater.
T. To sum up, I should say that we are ready for the trip.
4. Повторение достопримечательностей Лондона. What places would you like to visit in London?
Р. Называют достопримечательности Лондона, которые они хотели бы посетить.
T. Thank you. .You are right.
5. Просмотр кинофильма с последующим выполнением заданий на проверку понимания увиденного.
T. Let’s see a film about London sights. Look at the screen. Be attentive. Then we’ll do some exercises to check how your understanding of the film.
6. Выполнение упражнения на доске.
T. Look at the blackboard and say if we use article «the» or no article.

8. Listen to the riddles and try to guess what it is.
l. They say it is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle of it a monument to Admiral Nelson is situated. The monument includes four bronze lions. There are two fountains in it. (It is Trafalgar Square.)
2. It is a wonderful building. The Queen Victoria Memorial is in front of it. It takes you ten minutes to get from this building to Trafalgar Square, the centre of London. The Queen of Great Britain lives there. (Buckingham Palace.)
3. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there, many English kings and queens are buried there. It is famous for the Poet's Corner. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. This church has two tall towers. (Westminster Abbey.)
6. They are long grey buildings with towers. The large clock in one of the towers is "Big Ben". You can hear the sound of "Big Ben" every hour in London. The clock and the bell got their names after Sir Benjamin Hall. The members of the British Parliament work in these buildings. (The Houses of Parliament :)
III. Заключительный этап. Подведение итогов.
T. Children, we have a present for our friends. The girls have prepared a song. Let’s listen.
In conclusion I want to say that we are ready for our trip. Do you agree with me? Prove it.
P. We have an invitation. We packed our bag. We know how to ask the way. We planned what places to visit. We have a present for them.
Hometask. (Домашнее задание: написать письмо с благодарностью за приглашение посетить Лондон и жить в семье.) Write a thank –you-letter for the invitation to visit London and to stay with the host families.
