Тип урока: урок развития речевых умений

Основная цель: формирование речевых умений учащихся  в рамках обозначенной темы.

Сопутствующие задачи:

-активизировать лексический материал в устной и письменной речи;

- способствовать формированию умений планировать своё коммуникативное поведение;

- создать условия для активного речевого взаимодействия, развития аналитического и критического мышления;

- способствовать развитию умений использовать в устной речи информацию, полученную в ходе чтения статьи;

             - способствовать формированию умений планировать свое коммуникативное поведение, умение выражать свою аргументированную точку зрения и отношения к обсуждаемому вопросу.

Цель (прогнозируемый результат): предполагается, что к окончанию урока учащиеся смогут  проанализировать и сравнить положительные и отрицательные стороны школьной формы и сделать свой собственный выбор в отношении этого противоречивого вопроса.

Развивающие цели: cпособствовать развитию интеллектуальной , эмоциональной, мотивационной сферы учащегося.

Воспитательные цели:  - cовершенствование навыков сотрудничества в ходе работы в паре, группе;

-формирование уважительного отношения к мнению других;

- формирование социальной позиции.

Задачи для учащихся:

- учиться высказывать свою точку зрения на английском языке;

-учиться применять полученные знания на практике.

Методы: коммуникативный

Оборудование урока: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, мультимедийная презентация, аудиозапись, видеоролик, раздаточный материал.

Good afternoon, my dear pupils! I’m glad to see you. How are you?

So we are going to start our lesson, are you ready?

Let’s start from some questions.

What topic are we discussing now? Do you like watching fashion shows?

I have a short video. Look at the screen. You have a unique chance to exclusively experience the catwalk show.

 What style of clothes was on the catwalk? Where it can be worn? Can you guess the topic of our lesson?

School uniforms are fairly common in America and Britain. But in all schools, both teachers and pupils gave different views on the question – and probably they always will do. Psychologists say that uniforms remove competition, pressure, and attacks carried out by older kids on younger kids for their sneakers and other possessions. They also allow some kids to focus better, especially in the lower grades. But there is a downside: clothes are a source of expression for children, and as kids get older, they become increasingly resentful of uniforms.

You see this topic is very controversial.

But first of all I`d like you to brush your vocabulary. Look at the following list of clothing items and accessories and decide which things might not be suitable for wearing to school.

Can you think of the reasons why an item might not be suitable?

Are any of these things banned from your school?

You are dressed in a new school uniform. It’s very comfortable. You are perfect. Everybody looks at you in admiration. You are happy and proud. You are sure of yourself, that you have much energy. You are in good spirits.

Open your eyes. How do you feel?

Did you like your school uniform? Was it fashionable? I hope you remember it as your hometask will be to design a uniform (for boys or girls) which you think will be perfectly suitable for school and which will make pupils look nice. So, it’s mini-projects, make drawings and prepare presentations. At class we’ll see which uniform looks more attractive.

And the last point of our plans is pros and cons of school uniform.

So, group 1 will discuss the pros of school uniform, group 2 – the cons of school uniform. You will record your findings on your handout. When you are finished, you will share your ideas with the rest of the group. While listening you should fill in the second half of your tables. You will use this information to make a final decision about how each of you will vote at the end of the lesson.You have 4 minutes, you may use some key words and phrases from the article and task 3 in your pupils` sheets.

Overall, the use of school uniforms will help us for the good not for the bad. It could be true that it doesn’t let us show out individuality but there is tons of ways that we can change that. School was not made to model. School was made to learn. School uniforms will show that we respect our school by following the rules and maybe we can respect ourselves by covering what needs to be covered. Do you have any questions?
