Коммуникативная ситуация: “City Landmarks (Minsk)

Цель урока: Совершенствование навыков полилогической речи на основе полученной информации.

Задачи урока:

Образовательные: совершенствование навыков говорения, развитие умений понимания прочитанного, восприятия и понимания иноязычной речи на слух, расширение знаний о достопримечательностях родного города;

Развивающие: развитие познавательной активности, коммуникативной компетенции, функциональной грамотности, реализация межпредметных связей (география, история);

Воспитательные: создание условий для воспитания любви к Родине, гордости за архитектурное и историческое наследие родного города, воспитание культуры мышления и речевого поведения, формирование интереса к познанию нового.

Оборудование:

1.учебник 7 класса для гимназий;

2.карта Минска;

3.раздаточный материал в виде листа заданий;

4.компьютер, мультимедийный проектор

Did you go anywhere at the weekend? Did you visit any places of interest? How did you get there? What are you favourite places in Minsk? Do you think these places attract many tourists?

Today we’ll speak about landmarks of our wonderful city. What places would you advise a foreigner to visit in Minsk? Students give their answers, share ideas.

  • Let’s see how well you know your city. Listen and guess the places. Match them with the pictures in your worksheets.

  1. The Opera and Ballet House It is the biggest and the most beautiful theatre in Belarus, famous in the world. The best singers and dancers performed on its stage.

  2. Minsk Arena It is a sports complex and concert hall which sits 15,000 people. You can watch sports competitions, different concerts and shows.

  3. The Holy Spirit Cathedral It is the main orthodox cathedral in Belarus. It is located on the hill of the Upper Town, in the centre of Minsk. (not far from Nemiga underground station)

  4. The Red Church This church is located in Nezavisimost Square. It was built from red brick by a Belarusian aristocratic family.

  5. Victory Monument It is a monument to those Belarusians who died in World War II. 38 metre tall, it is located in Victory Square.

  6. Belarusian State Circus Located on the corner of Gorky Park, it is popular with children and their parents. Fantastic shows are given there by animals, acrobats, clowns and other actors.

  7. The National Library It is a modern multi-storey building in the shape of a diamond. It is especially beautiful at night when it is lit up with colourful lights.

In ______ the complex was opened after reconstruction (реконструкция, восстановительные работы).

Today it is one of the most picturesque places in Minsk where you can walk and enjoy fantastic views on the river, ride a bike on a special cycle lane, go boating and birdwatching. You can also visit the manor house and learn about life of Belarussian aristocrats in its museum. The museum also holds ____________________________________________________.
