Good morning. Let’s start our lesson. You have already learnt about London. Today we will remember interesting places and talk about one of the palaces .

Take the first on the left, then it’s at the end of the street on your left.

Trafalgar Square is the main square of London. In the center of the square there is a big monument. At the top of the column there is a statue of Admiral Nelson.
Buckingham Palace is the best known royal palace in the world. It was built in 1703. The palace is open to public in August and September.
The Tower is very old. It has a long and cruel history. The Tower of London was a fortress, a royal palace and later a prison. It is a museum now. There are a lot of interesting collections in the Tower of London.
Piccadilly is the center of entertainment. It is the meeting point of six streets. Here you can find the most expensive shops, restaurants and entertainment places. This center was created in 1980s.
Westminster Abbey is a symbol of England. The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place in Westminster Abbey . Some famous English people are also buried here.
It is the Houses of Parliament, the seat of the British Government. It has two Houses: the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The famous clock Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament. It is one of the most famous clocks in the world.
