Тема урока: « Образование. Преимущества и недостатки обучения за границей» (11 класс)

Цели:

Практическая цель : обобщить и систематизировать знания учащихся по английскому языку; по теме «Работа и профессии»; подготовить к самостоятельному высказыванию ; практиковать в употреблении условных предложений II типа ; практиковать в аудировании диалогов. Тренировать в словообразовании.
Образовательная цель: совершенствовать у учащихся умение говорить и понимать речь на английском языке; развивать и укреплять интерес к изучению иностранного языка. Прививать интерес к стране изучаемого языка.
Воспитательная цель: формировать критическое отношение к действительности , уметь анализировать и давать оценку событиям; учить отстаивать свою точку зрения , работать в команде и помогать друг другу.
Оборудование : интерактивная доска, видеоролики, презентация к уроку, карточки.

Ход урока
1.Greeting and aims
Hello, boys and girls. Today we are going to discuss a very serious and important topic. Look at the blackboard and try to name the theme of today’s lesson.(Pupils look at the first slide and give their variants).
So, by the end of the lesson you will be able

• To speak about advantages and disadvantages of education abroad

• To role-play the dialogue

• To practice word-formation

• To make-up sentences, using Conditionals II

2. Warming –up (Slide II)
Look at the board and be ready to say if this statement advantages or disadvantages
Prove your statement.

• Learning a language better and speaking with native speakers

• Learning about a new culture

• Different educational systems

• Homesickness

• Learn new skills that can help you get a better job

• Meet many different types of people and make new friends

• Living and studying abroad can be very expensive

3. Using grammar (Slide III)
Now look at the board and make up sentences
1) If I had a chance to get education abroad…
2) If I were so lucky to a student in Oxford…
3) If I could make a choice…
4) If I had enough money…
5) If I worked hard…

4.You have worked hard and can have three minutes of a rest.
Listen to this song and be ready to say what the main idea of it is. (Slide IV Video)

5. Check homework
And now perform your dialogues you have prepared for the lesson. (Pupils work in pairs)

6. Look at the next slide, you have to develop as many new words as possible, using suffixes and prefixes. And then one pupil from each group will write them down on the board.
