Описывать животных с использованием ранее изученной лексики;

Задавать вопросы о внешности животных и уметь на них отвечать;
Тип урока: комбинированный.
Приемы работы: парные, индивидуальные, групповые, самостоятельная работа с текстом.
Оборудование урока: УМК "Spotlight" 5 под редакцией Ю.Е. Ваулиной, Дж. Дули; карточки с изображением животных; аудио с «голосами» животных; видео про животных зоопарка, карточки с грамматическими заданиями.
Новые слова: beak, tail, fur, feathers, wings, mane, tusk, paws.
Продолжительность урока: 45 минут.

Организационный момент (3 мин)
Teacher: Hello, dear pupils.
Ps: Hello, teacher.
Teacher: I'm glad to see you. How are you doing today?
Ps: I'm good, thank you. And you?
Teacher: I'm very well. Thank you. Sit down, please.
Teacher: Tell me, please, what day is it today?
Ps: It's...
Teacher: Yes, you're right. And what date is it today?
Ps: It's...
Teacher: And do you remember what month is it now?
Ps: It's...
Teacher: Very good. How clever you are!

Фонетическая зарядка. Введение в тему (5 мин)
Teacher: Pupils, tell me please, do you like animals?
Ps: Yes, I do / No, I don't.
Teacher: Do you like to go to the zoo?
Ps: Yes, I do / No, I don't.
Teachers: What zoo animals do you know? What zoo animals do you like?
Ps: I like ....
Teacher: Very well. Now, pupils, look at the board please. Here you can see a short poem about animals with some missing words. Please look through.
Ps: (просматривают текст на доске)
____ are tall with necks so long
____ trunks are big and strong
____ have stripes and can gallop away
While ________ in the trees do sway
Old ____ swims in the pool so deep
Or lies in the sun and goes to sleep

Teacher: Now, let's read the words which you have to fill in.
Ps: (ученики читают названия животных, которые нужно вставить в пропуски)
Teacher: Very good. I see you know all these animals. So, think carefully, red the line and fill in the missing words.
Ps: (ученики по очереди выходят к доске, читают по одной строке и вставляют пропущенное название животного)
Teacher: Great job, pupils! Let's read all together the full poem!
Ps: (ученики хором читают стихотворение)
Teacher: Very good! Thank you for your work.

Изучение нового материала (25 мин)
Teacher: So, today, pupils, we are going to visit the zoo! Please open your books on page 68. Look at the picture in ex.1. What animals can you see? Let's name them.
Ps: (хором повторяют за учителем названия животных)
Teacher: Well done, pupils. Do you know what sounds all these animals make? Let's listen to the tape recorder and decide which animals in the picture you can hear.
Ps: (слушают аудио упр.1 стр. 68 и называют животного после каждого услышанного звука)
Teacher: How clever you are! You guessed all sounds! Great job! Now, let's play the game! One pupil is going to the blackboard and showing any animal he wants without saying a word and you, pupils, are going to guess what animal is it.
Ps: (по очереди (5 человек) выходят к доске, показывают животного, а другие ученики угадывают показанное животное)
Teacher: You're so smart and funny, pupils! Do you like the game?
Ps: ....
Teacher: Look at the boar, please. Here you can see the pictures with different parts of animals' body and their names. You have to put pictures all together to create animals. But first of all, let's pronounce the words. Repeat after me:

Teacher: In the end of the lesson, don't forget to write down these words in your vocabularies! So, let's play in groups and see what animals you will have in the end.
Ps: (ученики разделяются на 6 групп, работают за партами, составляют картинку животного из изображений частей тела)
Teacher: Who's ready? Put your hands up, please and let's see what you have got.
Ps: (ученики по очереди поднимают руку и называют животного, которое у них получилось (e.g. we have got a bear/a lion/a peacock/ a monkey/ an elephant/ a giraffe))
Teacher: Very good, pupils! You all are right!
Физкультминутка
One, one, one (показываем указательный палец)
I can run! (бег на месте)
Two, two, two (показываем 2 пальца)
I can jump too! ( прыгаем на месте)
Three, three, three (показываем 3 пальца)

Обобщение, систематизация и применение знаний (5 мин)
Teacher: Now pupils look again at the picture in ex.1 p.68 and answer my questions orally:
1. Which animal has got 2 tusks?
2. Which animal has got fur?
3. Which animal has got mane?
4. Which animal has got a long neck and nail?
5. Which animal has got a beak and feathers?
Ps: (ученики по очереди отвечают на вопросы учителя)
Teacher: Great job! Now please think about your favourite zoo animal and describe it with 2 sentences.
Ps: (ученики устно описывают своего любимого животного зоопарка)

Teacher: So, pupils, what is the topic of our today's lesson?
Ps: The topic of the lesson is ...
Teacher: It was very interesting to work with you, pupils. You're so active and clever! What is your the most favourite exercise of the lesson?

Teacher: I'm very glad you like the lesson. So, let's repeat the new words. Repeat after me: a beak, an ear, a tail, a leg, tusks, mane, neck, paws, trunk, fur, wings, and feathers.

Teacher: Stand up those pupils who think their work was great, sit down those who think their work could be better and put your hands up those who think they were not very active today.
