Тема “Different landscapes – different countries”.

Цели:

1. Тренировать произносительные навыки.

2. Ознакомить с новой лексикой по теме «География стран изучаемого языка».

3. Повторить и активизировать грамматические навыки (употребление артикля с географическими названиями).

4. Развивать умения и навыки чтения с целью детального понимания содержания.

5. Развивать умения аудировать с целью понимания общего содержания.

6. Развивать навык говорения.

1. Учебник английского языка 10-11 кл. под ред. Кузовлева В.П. и др.

2. Рабочая тетрадь к учебнику Кузовлева В.П

3. Аудиоприложение к учебнику Кузовлева В.П.

4. Компьютер.

5. Мультимедиа

6. Цветные иллюстрации по теме урока, географическая карта

Ход урока

I. Оргмомент. Good morning, boys and girls! I haven’t seen you for ages. I am glad to see you again. Today we shall have a talk about Australia, its landscape and geography.

II. Warming-up. You can see a spider gram on the blackboard with the word “landscape” in the centre. What associations do you have with the word combination “landscape of Australia”? I want you to go to the blackboard and write as many words as you can.

III. Phonetic activities. На экране мультимедиа представлена лексика по теме урока (см. учебник стр.4). Новая лексика (desert, prairie, canyon, unique, mountainous, severe, drought, flood, the Equator, huge, ocean, coast, range) написана с транскрипцией и переводом.

Учащиеся читают каждое слово вслед за учителем.

IV. Lexical activities.

2. How do we call very “special, outstanding” in a different way?

3. What synonym can be used instead of “vast”?

4. How do we call natural phenomena without rains (with a lot of rains)?

5. How do we call very big pools of water?

7. How do we call lands next to the sea or ocean?

V. Speaking. Describe the picture using new words:

VI. Grammar activities.

Some geographical names are pronounced with articles. They make them more specific. We have to find what are used with or without articles. Open Grammar Support p. 260. Read the rule with your examples.

Учащиеся читают правило вслух, приводят свои примеры и записывают в тетрадь географические объекты Австралии, которые употребляются с артиклем, используя карту.

VII. Reading activities (for detail).

1. Reading: упр. 2(1А), стр. 4

Учащиеся читают текст. Why do you think this text is about Australia?

What is typical of Australia? Give more detailed answers. Use the models after the text.

2. So, let’s summarize the information. Do the ex. 2(3) on p. 6. Choose the information about climate and landscape of Australia.

VIII. Listening .

1. Pre-listening.

Would you like to live in Australia? Why? Now you’ll hear some more facts about this unique country. Идёт аудиозапись текста об Австралии: упр.2. 4) с. 340 (аудиоприложение к учебнику Кузовлева В.П.).

2. Post-listening.
