Урок-обобщение «What do you know about Australia?»

Цели урока:

- активизировать ранее изученный материал

-закрепление знаний учащихся об Австралии

-практиковать учащихся в аудировании, монологической речи, письме, вопросно-ответной форме.

- расширить страноведческие знания об Австралии

ХОД УРОКА

1.Орг.момент. Приветствие.

Good morning, children! Look at me, pleasе and smile. O.K. Thank you. I am glad to see you. How are you? (Children’s answers.) Today our theme is Australia. We’ll speak about it, learn some different facts, do different tasks and play games. So let’s try to speak English.

2. Речевая разминка: “Spoken Etiquette”.

Say in English!

1.Вы рады познакомиться. (Pleased to meet you. Nice to meet you.)

2. Представьте себя. (Let me introduce myself. My name is…)

3.Как вы здороваетесь в течение дня. (Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening!)

4. Спросите, как дела у вашего знакомого. (How are you? How are you doing?)

5. Представьте вашего друга. (Let me introduce my friend…)

6. Попрощайтесь. (Good – bye. Bye. Take care. So long. See you later.)

7. Попросите написать вам письмо. (Write me a letter.)

8. Попросите позвонить вам. (Call me. Give me a call.)

9. Поблагодарите за помощь. (Thanks for your help. I appreciate your help.)

10. Скажите «пожалуйста» в ответ на «спасибо». (Not at all. You are welcome. Don’t mention it.)

12. Что вы желаете в день рождения кому – нибудь. (Happy birthday. I wish you…)

13. Объясните учителю, почему вы опоздали на урок (проспали, не успели на автобус). (I overslept. I missed my bus.)

14. Попросите извинения за опоздание. (I am sorry. I am late. Excuse me for being late.)

15. Скажите, что вашего друга сегодня в школе нет. (My friend is absent (away) today.)

16. Спросите по телефону, можно ли вам оставить сообщение. (Can I leave a message?)

17. Попросите знакомого дать вам номер телефона. (Give me your telephone number.)

3. Практика в устной речи и аудировании.

What day is it today? What holiday was it yesterday? Right you are. It was the National Day of Australia.

What do you know about Australia? Australia is a very interesting country. It is the largest island but the smallest continent in the world. It has its own customs, national culture, literature and traditions. There are many famous writers, poets, outstanding scientists, sport men and politicians in Australia. But it would be better to listen to a poem about Australia. I should say it is a national anthem of this country. Let’s listen to the national anthem.Звучит мелодия гимна.

T: What is The Commonwealth of Australia

P1. The Commonwealth of Australia is a self governing federal state. It is situated in the south-west of the Pacific ocean, occupying the continent of Australia and a great number of islands of which Tasmania is the most important. Australia is a continent-island washed by the Indian and the Pacific Oceans.

P2. The country consists of 6 (six) states and 2 (two) territories. 16 million people live in Australia. The capital is Canberra. The official language is English.

T.: What are the biggest cities of Australia?

P.: There are 5 (five) big cities in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. These cities are also the country's main ports.

T: What is official language in Australia ?

P.: Australian English does not differ from other forms of English, although some expressions are unique to Australia .

4.Практика в письменной речи. Задание в парах.

Australia is made up of six states and two territories. Write the names of the territories on the map.

5. Игра “Jeopardy Game”. Thank you, pupils. Now let’s remember everything and answer the questions and play “Jeopardy Game” I am sure you like to watch this game on TV and know its rules.

Your homework will be to translate Australia’s anthem p.72
