• Google's Indoor Maps service is supposed to help navigate large buildings. It doesn’t always work well, but the service is still useful. Google Maps Routing Google Maps Routing Shopping centers, museums, international airport terminals - it’s easy to get lost in such large spaces. As is often the case, Google promises to solve the problem: the search giant has expanded its Google Maps service with so-called Indoor Maps. They pay special attention to large cities in developed countries of the world. In total, more than 10,000 building plans can be found on the service, including major airports, museums and shopping centers

• Using Indoor Maps on a mobile device can be useful, for example, when you are in Europe on vacation or on business. If you are near a museum or airport and get close enough to a building, the map will change to a floor plan. In addition, the existing floors are displayed in a horizontal projection from a bird's eye perspective. They can be changed with the touch of a finger, and the plan of the selected floor will be immediately displayed on the screen. Inside the object, according to Google's assurances, a map of the floor where you are should automatically appear.

• Your location in the building is marked with a blue arrow on the map. This should allow you to navigate the buildings, in order, for example, to find friends who have Google Latitude activated. Google uses exactly the same capabilities to locate indoor locations as it does outdoor navigation: cellular cells, open WLANs, and even GPS, even though this satellite technology works in restricted buildings.
