The rock and pop music world knows a lot of outstanding or just popular musicians and events. What are they? Look at the blackboard, at the photos of pop and rock stars. Try to guess whome these sentences about. You should to replace the underlined words and expressions with the new words that fit.

Bill Haley preserved on a disk the rock and roll classic Rock Around the Clock.

Now few people remember the name of Smokey Robinson though he was not the one who stopped the success of rock’s beginners.

Madonna’s songs and dancing were a great achievement in pop music. But some people think the words of her early songs are dangerous and destructive.

One of the most important happenings of rock music was Woodstock, a big rock festival.

Bruce Springsteen was included in the list of the most popular singers when he was 23. He was one of the most popular songwriters and performers for more than 20 years. He visited many countries with his concerts.

Tina Turner began in the 80s. But her solo singing is still very good to listen to.

Young people write what they think about modern music on different internet sites. What do they think about modern music? You should fill in the gaps with the words from the box. The first three persons who will do this exercise, will be the expert in pop and rock history. The second three persons who will do this exercise, will be fan of pop and rock music. You should work hard and quick and after finishing the exercise you give it to me.
