Poultry farming is:

• Poultry farming is one of areas that makes a significant contribution not only to the to the country’s economy but ensures its food security by supplying the markers with high-quality animal protein necessary to maintain the health of the human body .
• Poultry farming has become of the most profitable and importrant sectors of the Russian economy ,since poultry farming is relatively simple type of agriculture that can provide the population with nutritions and healthy products – eggs , meat and fat , as well as provide raw materials for recycling – down , feathers and droppings

Breeding

• Thanks to breeding work aimed at improving the captured characteristics and breeding new breeds, the development of the poultry industry in Russia is developing at a rapid pace. This became possible thanks to the introduction of new technologies related to the production of feed and the very system of poultry feeding on farms.
• At the moment, the country's poultry farms are raising seventeen egg and eleven meat breeds. Breeds bred in Russia are in the lead. If we add together all the poultry farms in the country, then in total it turns out that they contain three hundred sixty - three hundred and eighty million different breeds of poultry. And these figures are growing every year.

• Egg poultry farming ; In order for this direction of poultry farming to grow and develop ,it’s necessary to monitor the increase in proportion of egs that are processed to obtain high-quality liquid egg product in the future

In the Gatchinsky District of the Leningrad Region, farmer Lev Gridnev has been breeding poultry for several years with his son Sergei. They talk about their hobby with enthusiasm. They raise a variety of bird species and supply them to local supermarkets and markets. Their mini-farm occupies an entire hectare, but they do not stop there and plan to expand to provide Russians with environmentally friendly and healthy poultry products. By the way, the Russians have already been able to appreciate the delicious poultry meat from the Gatchina farmers.

Initially, the Gridnev family intended only to breed chickens. But life made its own adjustments and geese, ducks, Indo-ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, quails, and then peacocks began to appear on the farm. The Gridnevs have been engaged in poultry farming for over 25 years and are very successful.

The farm covers an area of ​​about 1 hectare, which is scattered with many covered areas and poultry walks. Quails and young broilers are kept in a separate room with special conditions created for them. This room is much warmer than others. Adult birds are kept in rooms with the possibility of walking. Walking areas completely exclude the access of wild birds to them. During the season, the farm produces about 20 thousand birds of the most diverse breed.
