Тема: «Sciences. Grammar forms with the ending -s»

Цель: Совершенствование лексико-грамматических навыков по теме.

Формирование знаний о роли науки в нашей жизни.

Оборудование: 1. Учебники; 2. Раздаточный материал.

Задание 1. Прочитайте и переведите текст «Science» (25 минут):

Science is important to most people living in the modern world for a number of reasons. In particular,science is important for world peace and understanding, for understanding of technology, and for ourunderstanding of the world.

Science is important for world peace in many ways. On the one hand, scientists have helped todevelop many of the modern tools of war. On the other hand, they have also helped to keep the peacethrough research, which has improved life for people. Scientists have helped us understand theproblem of supplying the world with enough energy; using energy of the sun and of the atom. Scientistshave also analysed the world’s resources. Scientists study the Universe and how to use its possibilitiesfor the benefit of men.

Scientists are also important for everyone who is affected by modern technology. Many of the thingsthat make our lives easier and better are results of advances in technology. In some cases, such astechnology of producing salt from ocean water, technology may be essential for our lives on Earth.

Scientists are learning to predict earthquakes, to study many other natural events such as storms.Scientists are also studying various aspects of human biology and the origin and development of thehuman race. The study of the natural world may help improve life for many people all over the world.

Basic knowledge of science is essential for everyone. It helps people to find their way in the changingworld.

Older people have different devices that have highly improved the level of their life, such as special cars for driving or hearing aid that helps them to no more feel useless in the society.

On the other hand al this computerized environment may damage us too. Our children spend more and more time playing computer games, texting their friends instead of meeting them in the streets, living more and more in their own virtual world. Girls try to compete whose cell phone or tablet is better and more modern, or who has more friends on Facebook.

Anyway technology has its advantages and disadvantages, but we cannot escape from progress, the development is inevitable. But our responsibility is to preserve ourselves as modern, just and peaceful civilization.

Задание 2. Составьте план текста и перескажите его (20 минут).

Задание 3. Составьте к тексту 8 вопросов разных типов (20 минут).

Задание 4. Составьте диалоги о научных достижениях, используйте информацию, данную ниже (25 минут):

Now we’ve just talked about the space exploration, of course, it is very important, but every day we use some of the inventions at home, in the kitchen. Let’s remember some of them. (Mixer, iron, refrigerator, TV set, toaster, microwave, washing machine, etc.)

 Критерии:

Оценка «5» - Поставленные задачи (чтение, перевод текста, составление диалогических высказываний, выполнение лексико-грамматических упражнений, ответы на вопросы) решены полностью, применение лексики адекватно коммуникативной задаче, грамматические ошибки либо отсутствуют, либо не препятствуют решению коммуникативной задачи

Оценка «4» - Коммуникативная задача решена полностью, но понимание текста незначительно затруднено наличием грамматических и/или лексических ошибок.

Оценка «3» - Коммуникативная задача решена, но понимание текста затруднено наличием грубых грамматических ошибок или неадекватным употреблением лексики.

Оценка «2» - Коммуникативная задача не решена ввиду большого количества лексико-грамматических ошибок или недостаточного объема текста.
