• A very unusual festival of chimney sweeps takes place in one of the towns of Great Britain. This town Rochester is situated in the county Kent.

• Before the 1868 little boys were working as chimney sweeps.
• It was a very dirty and low-paid work

• On the 1 st of May these boys had a day off. They could rest from their hard work and take part in May parade.

• The Festival began on the sunrise, when Jack-in-the-Green, who was considered to be the spirit of spring and forest, woke up.

• Folk-musicians and dancers from all parts of the country take part in the festival.
