Myths about polyglots
The presence of superpowers
Some people assume that a polyglot is a person who has a unique ability to learn languages. He is endowed with an ideal memory and easily assimilates information. That's a lie. In fact, polyglots are ordinary people who like to learn languages. When you do what you love, you don't pay attention to how much time it takes. If you decide to learn how to ride a bike, and someone already knows how to ride it even without hands, this does not mean that they have the ability to do this. This means that a person loves what he does. As for memory. A good memory for polyglots is in most cases the result obtained when learning languages.
The only occupation
"If I was constantly doing nothing but learning the language, I would also know it that way." A typical phrase addressed to polyglots. There is a myth that polyglots have a lot of free time. However, this is not always the case. Some people devote only 1 hour to the language, but every day. If you make every effort, you will get a good result.
