В английском языке для выражения повторяющихся действий в прошлом может использоваться конструкция “used to”

"Used to" употребляется для описания действий, которые раньше происходили довольно часто, а сейчас не происходят вовсе. При переводе на русский язык часто добавляются слова "раньше", "прежде", и т.п.

• used to + I форма глагола

Например: Jerry used to study English. - Джерри раньше изучал английский.

Sam and Mary used to go to Mexico in the summer. -
