The Amur River is the largest and most mysterious river in the Far East, its length is 2824 km, and its width is 5 km. It begins at the confluence of the Shilki and Argun rivers. It flows through China, Russia and Mongolia and flows into the Sea of Okhotsk.

The Amur River is the most important means of transport in the East of our country. The main resource of this river is water, which is appropriate for drinking. The Amur waters are home to many fish and plants, some of which are not found anywhere else, and we can hope that the pollution of river waters will not increase.

Some facts

* The Chineses call the Amur the "Black Dragon River". * The Amur Bridge is pictured on a banknote of 5 thousand Russian rubles. * While most rivers increase their waters due to the melting ice, the Amur receives up to 75% of the water due to rain.

* It is one of the few rivers shipping along its whole length. Russian ships have been sailing on the Amur River for more than a century and a half.
