Tower Bridge

• What river does London stand on?

Crossing the river by the Tower Bridge you can see the Tower of London.

Tower

It is one of the oldest buildings in London . Many centuries ago it was a fortress ( крепость), a royal palace and then a prison. Now it is a museum of arms ( оружия).

• What do you know about the Tower else?

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s official London residence.

• What ceremony can t ourists see there ?

The Houses of Parliament

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is a famous church where kings, queens, and many famous people are buried.

• Who built Westminster Abbey ? When?

Read the letter and put down the names of the places of interest.

We walked through London's streets. We saw …. where all members of Parliament discuss the Kingdom’s problems . Near this place we saw a very wonderful tower with a clock, …. , a beautiful bridge - … which connect two banks of the river Thames.

Of course, we couldn’t miss …., the residence of the Queen and …. where many queens and kings were married or buried there.

At the last we saw … This building was used as a tower, as a prison but now it’s a museum.
