Regent Street
Regent Street is a major shopping street in the West End of London. It’s very long. 1.3 km long. It’s a street of wonder (Удивлений). During the 19th century, Regent Street became the "Centre of fashion." The University of Westminster, one of the oldest educational institutions London is here. The Regent Street Festival takes place here and "Fashion and Design Month". Hamleys is the best toy shops in the world.is in Regent Street. Apple Store services Apple: from music and art to apps, photos, and more.
Piccadilly Circus
Piccadilly Circus is the center of night life in the West End. It is a busy square in the heart of London. This is a meeting point of five main roads: Regent Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Piccadilly Street, Covent Street and Haymarket. Piccadilly Circus is one of the most popular meeting points of London, It is actually quite small, but a dynamic and picturesque place with a happy and lively atmosphere. People like to gather around the statue of Eros, the god of love. It is a shopping and entertainment area.
Oxford street
Oxford Street is a major road in the West End of London . Oxford Street is home to a number of major department stores. It is Europe's busiest shopping street, with 300 shops. This street is very long, and there are many big shops at both sides of the street. There are different shops where you can buy expensive clothes and cheap clothes, too. Tourist can buy souvenirs on the street all the time. [7]
Fleet Street
Fleet Street is one of the oldest roads. It has a lot of monuments and statues along the road. Fleet Street is named after the River Fleet , which runs to the River Thames . Several writers wrote about it in their works. Several publishing and printing shops located on Fleet Street in 16 th century. Later the street became the center of news companies. They had their presence on Fleet Street. After some time they replaced, but the street is called the spiritual home of British journalism. There is a tradition that every British journalist gets married in the Christopher Wrens Church on Fleet Street.
Downing Street
Downing Street in London, United Kingdom is the official residences of two of the most senior British Cabinet ministers. Downing Street is in Whitehall in central London , a few minutes' walk from the Houses of Parliament . While Margaret Thatcher was the Premiership of on both ends of the street had been installed the gate to safe the members of the government.
The Mall
The Mall is a road in the City of Westminster , central London , between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square . It is the place for the marathon course , different road race s, nowadays the Mall is also used for UK cycling events.
Covent Garden
Covent Garden was the former fruit-and-vegetable market now it is a popular shopping and tourist site. It is a center of Street life and entertainments . Don’t mix the Royal Opera House , which is also called as "Covent Garden".There are street performances at Covent Garden Market every day of the year, except Christmas Day. The Covent Garden area has over 13 theatres, 60 pubs and bars and a lot of restaurants.
Charing Cross Road
Charing Cross Road is known as a place of second-hand bookshops and antiquarian shops. Most of these shops are located on the ground floor. Charing Cross Road is a lovely place for booklovers . Many theatres are on or near Charing Cross Road. I n the Harry Potter books, the Leaky Cauldron pub is located on Charing Cross Road
