Moscow is the capital of Russia. It is the political, cultural and business centre.

Moscow was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in 1147.

Moscow at first became the capital of Russia in the 16 th century.

In 1712 Peter the Great moved the capital to St.Peterburg.

In 1812 Moscow was destroyed by fire. Then Moscow was restored. In 1918 Moscow became the capital again.

Now Moscow is one of the largest and most beautiful cities in the world. The population of the city is about 9 mln people.

Moscow is famous for its historical sights, museums, theatres.

The Red Square and the Kremlin are the symbols of Russia.

The Kremlin was founded in the 12 century.

You can see the monuments to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky. They helped to clear Moscow from the Polish invaders in 1612.
