On January 20, 1921, the decree on the formation of the DASSR was adopted. Thanks to this, Dagestan managed to restore the national economy destroyed during the Civil War .

Today Dagestan on low it is pround of its literature and artistic figures –poets and writers, artists and composers.

Roza Eldarova

Roza Eldarova was born in 1923, in the village Kapchugay. Dagestan social and political activist. In 1946 - first secretary of the district committee of Komsomol Buynakskiy. 1953 - the first secretary of the Soviet District Party Committee of Makhachkala.In 1956 - secretary of the Dagestan Regional Committee of the CPSU. From 1962 to 1967 - Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Dagestan ASSR. In 1963-1971 - Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR.In 1983-1989 headed the department awards of the Presidium of the SS of the USSR

Naryn-Kala - the ancient, pre-Arab stronghold in the mountainous part of Derbent, connected with the Caspian Sea double walls that are designed to block.

Irregularly shaped fortress covers an area of 4.5 hectares. Its walls reinforced with small towers. In the south-west corner of the fortress there is a large square tower, serving as a fortress to bond with a defensive wall.

Inside the fortress there is the cross-dome Church of the V century and a mosque. Juma Mosque - the oldest in Russia, it was founded in the VIII century. In front of the mosque there is a madrasah of the XV century.
