Rustem Baramykov

Since 1940 a graduate of Simferopol CrimeanTatar Secondary School No. 13 (there is Simferopol School No. 14 in the building of former School No. 13 which is situated on the Karaimskaya Street) Rustem Baramykov has been training as a navigator-bomber at the Kharkov Military Aviation School .

The military-political situation in the world was heating up. In 1941, cadets, who had been training only for a year, were sent to the army to bombard the enemy’s positions.

August 1941…

• During one of the combat flights, in August 1941, the young navigator Rustem Baramykov was seriously wounded, contused and sent to the hospital. Having recovered from the wounds (after several months spent in the hospitals) he was sent first to Korelskiy frontline, later to Volkhovsky and Leningrad ones

. Rustem Baramykov fought selflessly in the 42nd Army, in the 17th separate field battalion (he was a commander of an aerosled).

Rustem Baramykov was one of the heroes who were clearing Gdov, Narva, Kingisepp from invaders.

He was the head of the guidance post of Primorsk anti-aircraft defense.

. In July 1944, Rustem Baramykov as one of the best fighters was awarded the Order "For the Defense of Leningrad".
