St. Petersburg - a city on the Neva

St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, the second most important city in Russia. Thousands of tourists come here to plunge into the cultural life of the Northern Capital, visit world-famous museums, palaces, see magical white nights, bridges and canals.Founded by Peter the Great, the city has a rich history. Behind the elegant front facade hides a city with a strong character, preserving dignity in any situation, a hero city that has survived the hardest blockade. Saint Petersburg today is the northernmost millionaire city (with a population of 5.3 million people), a major cultural and economic center of the country. In 2018, the city became one of the organizers of the World Cup.

A lot has been written about St. Petersburg, but it's better to really see it yourself at least once. Here is a list of things that can only be done here:
- to see the solemn bridges;
- to walk on the roofs of St. Petersburg;
- visit the Hermitage, the Russian Museum and other famous museums;

The proximity of the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea have a significant impact on the weather in St. Petersburg. It is quite humid here, there are strong winds, the weather is changeable — the rain is replaced by the sun and vice versa. Winter is long, and summer is short and humid. The warmest month of the year is July, the coolest is January.

"... I love you, Peter the creation, I love your strict, slender look ..." Many people remember this Pushkin quote when coming here. The appearance of the historical center of St. Petersburg is carefully preserved. You can start with a sightseeing tour of the city. Names familiar from books, plays, films will come to life: Nevsky Prospekt, Kazan Cathedral, Palace Square, the Bronze Horseman, Winter Palace, Vasilievsky Island, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Field of Mars, Engineering Castle, Summer Garden, Admiralty, Russian Museum, Mariinsky Theater.
