Introduction

• About Sherlock Holmes know all. But who knows about doctor Watson? In this work, I will try to talk about it.

Author

• Sherlock Holmes and doctor Watson are a literary character created by the talented English writer Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930).

Prototypes of doctor Watson

• Conan Doyle
• Major Wood. Alfred wood was Secretary of the Conan Doyle and he spent with him in this capacity for nearly 40 years

Description

• John Hamish Watson, or Dr. Watson is a former military doctor who had fought in Afghanistan. There he got injured and had a long walk with a crutch, but it was post-traumatic stress disorder and he can not only walk, but quite fast to run without a crutch

• 1854 - the family of Watson moved to Australia, returned to England in 1865.
• 1872 - he entered the University of London, works as a surgeon at the hospital of St. Bartholomew.
• 1878 - received the degree of doctor of medicine. Entered the military service as military doctor. Sent to India and later to Afghanistan.

• 1880 - wounded in the battle. In the Pakistani city of Peshawar falls ill with typhoid fever. On a military transport "Orontes" returns to London.
• 1881 - meets Sherlock Holmes. Rents an apartment on Baker street.
