St. Valentine’s day

On the 14th of February there is St. Valentine’s Day in New Zeland. People send Valentine’s cards to someone they love. Usually they don’t sing them – you must guess who sent cards to you.

Boxing Day

• On the 26 th of December Canadians celebrate Boxing Day. The name of the holiday gave boxes with which the recipients of gifts rushed to the store to exchange the gift if they didn't like its

The 17th of March is a national holiday in Ireland – St. Patrick’s day. On that day people wear a shamrock. A shamrock is a plant with three leaves. It is the national symbol of Ireland.

St. Patrick was a man who had wonderful power. He cleared Ireland of snakes.

Father’s day  

In June the Australian people celebrate Father’s Day.

On that day children send cards and give presents to their father’s .

Halloween

On the 31st of October there is Haloween in Britain. The symbol of this holiday is People make it from a pumpkin.

  Children like Haloween parties, they put on witch’s and  ghost’s dresses. They go “trick or treat ”.

Thanksgiving Day

• Thanksgiving Day is one of the most favorite holidays in the United States. Every fourth Thursday of October American people celebrate this holiday. They usually stay at home and have a big family dinner. The main dish of this holiday is turkey .
