Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined and in which crosses the . It is close to the , from which it takes its name, and has become an of London.
The bridge consists of two tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical component of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The bridge's present colour scheme dates from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for 's. Originally it was painted a mid greenish-blue colour.
Westminster Bridge
Westminster Bridge is a road and foot traffic bridge over the in London, linking on the north side and on the south side.
The bridge is painted predominantly green, the same colour as the leather seats in the which is on the side of the nearest the bridge. This is in contrast to which is red, the same colour as the seats in the and is on the opposite side of the Houses of Parliament.
In 2005–2007 it underwent a complete refurbishment, including replacing the iron fascias and repainting the whole bridge. It links the Palace of Westminster on the west side of the river with and the on the east and was the finishing point during the early years of the .

The Millennium Bridge is owned and by Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the . Construction of the bridge began in 1998, with the opening in June 2000.
Londoners nicknamed the bridge the "Wobbly Bridge" after participants in a charity walk on behalf of to open the bridge felt an unexpected and, for some, uncomfortable swaying motion on the first two days after the bridge opened. The bridge was closed later that day, and after two days of limited access the bridge was closed for almost two years while modifications were made to eliminate the wobble entirely. It reopened in 2002.
