Introduction

Nowadays it’s probably impossible to find a single person who doesn’t use a smartphone.

Computer technologies surround us everywhere. However, it might be interesting to know why

smartphones are a must-have thing today, in other words, what is the purpose of using them. My

project focuses on the very same topic.

Key features

According to the diagram provided, it’s noticeable that smartphones are exercised to

communicate with each other by emails and phone calls. On the other hand, a significant amount

of people (58%) need phones for leisure purposes such as surfing the Internet or playing games.

Besides, phones are used in order to pay for purchases.

Comparison

According to the data, we can estimate that more people use smartphones for making phone calls

than for playing games. 79% of respondents need smartphones for exchanging emails, which is

approximately 5 times bigger than the amount of people using them as a substitute for credit

cards (15%).

Problem and solution

Although smartphones are arguably one of the most important things now, their excessive usage

can lead to serious health problems such as bad eyesight or improper posture. One of the most

efficient solutions is to keep control of the time you spend with your phone. It can be achieved

by using special apps or setting screen time.

Conclusion

All in all, it is pointless to argue that smartphones play a pivotal role in our lives. Nevertheless,

no matter how necessary they are, it is crucial to have some limits when you use them.
