The aim

• The aim of our investigation is to study keeping pets in Great Britain and Russia.

The actuality

Many people in different countries keep pets nowadays. They want to know much information about pets.

The objectives of the study

• to find out the most popular animals in Great Britain and Russia;
• to identify the tradition of keeping pets in Russia and the UK;
• to find out the information about pets of the Royal Family;
• to find out the most popular pets among our classmates

The practical significance

The results of this work can be used at English lessons.

Russian people are fond of pets, but there is a real cult of Pets in the UK

The most popular animals in Russia and the UK are similar. Cats are in the first place and dogs are in the second one.

Some reasons to keep pets nowadays:

To be good friends to lonely people

The guide dog for the blind people

Willingness to have a friend for the child

To look after children

To have a friend and defender

The owners of Pets are called “ pet parents ” in the UK

Many animals sleep in the rooms and in the beds of their owners.

People feed them delicious food, give nice gifts to their pets.

People take the pets to the spa salons and hairdresser’s

People take them on short trips and on vacations.

Vladimir Putin has got his personal “government zoo”. There are several dogs, horses, a goat, a tiger and even a crocodile there.

The results of the testing of 5 "A" class

We have made the opinion poll in our class and came to the conclusion: 5 people from our class haven’t got Pets, and 19 people have got different pets. They are Cats -14, dogs - 6, parrots - 3 , fish - 18, hamster-1 , turtle s-5.

The conclusion

• Pets make the atmosphere in the house warmer, they help people to become kinder and make our life more interesting.
• People share their secrets with their pets, discuss with them their problems.
• People believe that animals help them to feel well.
• Pets never betray their owners.
