the GLOSSARY of term notions for PBL

a project is defined as a specific, finite activity that produces an observable and measurable result under certain preset requirements

Project-Based Learning - a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge and understanding, typically demonstrated in the creation of a product or performance.

The 21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age. The Partnership for 21st Century Skills lists three types:

Leadership

Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed. The created item may be intangible (such as an idea, a scientific theory, a musical composition, or a joke) or a physical object (such as an invention, a literary work, or a painting).

Productivity describes various measures of the efficiency of production.

Challenge something that needs great mental or physical effort in order to be done successfully

Leadership is a suite of related skills that combines the other life skills. Good leaders take initiative, have strong social skills, are flexible, and are productive.

The driving question is the question teacher pose to students in order to get them to investigate a problem or process. Students will learn or practice key standards while exploring the driving question.

Inquiry is a way of thinking that involves asking questions, making hypotheses, supporting your answers with research, and asking new questions as your knowledge deepens.
