Ход урока
Первая стадия – вызов имеющихся знаний
Начало урока
Some people drop litter when they don’t feel any sense of ownership. If they don’t feel that the park or street belongs to them they don’t try to keep it looking nice. We should try to take a pride in ‘our street’, ‘our park’, ‘our school’ and ‘our village’ and do our best to keep it looking great.
Today we’ll speak about “Teens and bins”.
Постановка цели урока для обучающихся.
We’ll read and listen to the texts about rubbish bins in Russia and Great Britain and compare the results.

Text №1a
Young litter louts are to be given the chance to make amends for making the streets untidy – or face a £75 fine.
Teenagers in Wakefield caught dropping rubbish on the city's streets will get the option of going litter picking instead of paying an on-the-spot fine.
Currently, anyone over the age of 10 can be fined if they are caught throwing their rubbish on the street.
But from January, offenders aged between 12 and 18 will be able to choose to go on a 'reparation scheme' instead of being hit in the pocket.
Council chiefs hope it will make young people think twice about dropping litter.
The scheme has been set up by Wakefield Council's antisocial behaviour unit, Youth Development and Support Service and the Targeted Youth Support Team.
Youngsters who choose to do this will take part in a three-hour litter-picking session.
Text №1b
Olivia Rowley, Wakefield Council's cabinet member for community safety, said: "We are determined to provide a cleaner, safer environment for our citizens and visitors to the district and do not tolerate this antisocial behaviour.
"The dropping of any kind of litter is an environmental crime and our message is clear – 'bin it or pay'.
"And with this new reparation scheme young people can pay the price for their actions – either by paying the 75 fine or putting time back into the community and help clean it up."
The scheme has been developed following consultation with youth court magistrates, citizens and several high schools.
Clive Hudson, cabinet member for the environment, added: "We are working with residents to combat irresponsible behaviour on all fronts because having pleasant surroundings is in everyone's interest.

When you work in the forest, let it be.
There’s a flower in the wood, let it be.
There’s a flower in the wood, and it’s innocent and good,
By the stone where it stands, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
It’s so lovely where it is, let it be.

Text for listening
Abbie, 13, Somerset
“There is too much litter and I think it's disgusting. At my school we do litter duty when we have to pick up all the litter at our school!”
Louise, 11, London
“I litter quite a lot - it's just a habit to drop my rubbish on the floor, but if they brought in a law against it and fined you when you littered, it would definitely get me out of the habit”.
Maddie, 13, Portsmouth
“I think it's really sad how some people drop litter and I think these people should be punished but perhaps not in such a serious way. I think they should BE publicly humiliated perhaps with posters to name and shame these people. I heard they have already done this in some places, it's a great idea!”
Susan, 13, Dublin
“I think that would be ok if there were proper bins and facilities for disposing of rubbish - but where I come from there isn't so I don't think we should be punished for lack of facilities. It's not our fault!”
Приложение №6
Look at the statement below and tick true or false.
