Honeybees can recognize human faces. T
In recent years a number of studies have shown that, in fact, some wasps can facially recognize one another. And honeybees can learn human faces, too.
Worker honeybees are all female. T
Worker bees are all girls. They do many jobs: collect food, take care of baby bees, and clean the hive. Male bees are called drones. Their only job is to mate with the queen bee.
A honeybee dies after stinging any animal. F
Bees usually die after stinging people or animals. This happens because their stinger gets stuck and tears out. But they can sting other insects and not die.
Bees communicate direction and distance of food via a 'waggle dance.' T
- The waggle dance: Bees dance to show where food is. They tell others how far and in what direction to fly.
Honey produced by bees never spoils. F
Honey lasts long: It doesn’t spoil easily because it has little water. But if it gets dirty or wet, it can go bad.
A single hive may house tens of thousands of bees. T
Big bee family: In summer, one hive can have 20,000–80,000 bees. They all work together.
Honeybees have five eyes. T
They have 2 big eyes to see and 3 small ones to sense light. This helps them fly well.
All bees make honey. F
Not all bees make honey: Many bees live alone and don’t store honey.
Worker bees can lay eggs if the queen is absent. T

Солнцева Е.М. Dear girls and boys, every team has an envelope on its desk. The problematic situation is inside. This situation is called a case. Each case will show you a situation where bees need help. You will think about what we can do to help them. Please open your envelope and find them.
