Type: an integrated competition

Grade level: 9-11

Materials: 1 Wallpapers about Kazakhstan.

4 Portraits of famous Kazakh people.

5 A tape-recorder, a video-cassetteplayer.

Preparation: the hall is decorated with the state symbols of

Kazakhstan. The participants are dressed in national clothes.

There are some Kazakh national foods on the table. In the

Middle of the scene there is a small yurta.

The national anthem is playing. Two students are on the stage.

Leader 1: Dear guests, teachers and students! As you know we

are going to celebrate the Independence Day of Kazakhstan.

On the 16 th of December 1991 a Declaration about the

Independence of Kazakhstan was adopted. Eighteen years

Have passed since that memorable date. Now our country

has its own flag anthem and the state emblem.

Leader 2: Our President is Nursultan Nazarbayev. During these years of Independence much had been done for economic and

political life of our country.

Now you are welcome to enjoy our show “Viva Independent Kazakhstan!” specially prepared for you. Let’s make acquaintance with the participants.

(Leader 1 and 2 invite the participants to the stage.)

Leader 1: Our first round is called “The Best Speaker”. Please, come to the desk and try your luck. Here are some topics on cards of different colours. You should choose one topic and speak on it.
