Тема: We are sporty (урок с использованием методов критического мышления)
Цель: формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащихся в рамках темы урока.
ЗАДАЧИ урока:
1. Практические задачи:
• активизация употребления лексики по теме: «Спорт»;
• совершенствование навыков аудирования и чтения;
• развитие монологических и диалогических умений с использованием грамматических форм времен страдательного залога.
2. Образовательные задачи:
• обобщение основных понятий, лексических единиц по теме «Спорт» через презентации и диалоги, подготовленные учащимися, совершенствовать речевые навыки и навыки аудирования и чтения;
• активизация грамматического материала (структура страдательного залога);
• расширение кругозора по теме;
3. Воспитательные задачи:
• воспитание культуры общения, ответственности за результат своего труда;
• развитие готовности к социальному общению в рамках темы занятия;
• воспитание умения работать самостоятельно и в группах;

I. Introduction
Greeting and the aims of the lesson
T. When we speak about sport we mean some kinds of sport or games. On the one hand speaking about sport game we mean some equipment necessary for it. And on the other hand we mean some place for playing. More than that every sport game has its history and rules. Besides there are some people playing it. They are sportsmen.
Grammar warming up and making clusters

T. You have some cards. Look at them and think of the games. Let’s make some clusters. One of them is about "FOOTBALL" and the other one is about "TENNIS". (Составление кластеров комментируется предложениями, например: The ball is used for playing football. A racket and a ball are used for playing tennis. Football is played at the stadium. The rules of the game are observed by footballers. Tennis is played at the court. I should add football was played long time ago. Besides tennis was played long time ago.

T. Open your personal cards and do the task. Group these activities into indoor and outdoor sports.

Now let’s work in two groups. The task for the first group is to match the words with their translation. The task for the second group is to make the phrase. Take your cards and write down your surname. Do the tasks.

T. Now we shall work under some texts. Open your texts and prepare your cards-tables. The first group has texts about Rules and history of football. The second group has texts about Rules and history of tennis. We should fill in the table about what we know about football and tennis, what we don’t know and what we want to know about history and rules of these games.

T. Now I want you to listen to the text and do some tasks. I have such a task for the first group. I give you some expressions to look through. You should choose the expressions from the text and put them into this envelope (file) after listening to the text. And here is the task for the second group. I give you some statements and you should choose true or false sentences. Look through them. So, listen to the text. I give you some minutes to do the tasks. So, let’s check. Please, name the expressions which were absent in the text (1group). Have you marked true and false sentences? Put your cards with answers to your exercise books.

T. I know you are very active and like to move. And I want to represent you some person or creature who likes moving too. I think you should join him. Let’s watch and sing.
Game
T. I see you like moving and playing. So, let’s play the game. First I give you two envelopes with letters. You should put them in order to have the name of sport game. Then you should go to the first desk and take some things connected with it. After that you should go to the second desk and take some grammar structures. And finally you should go to the third table and take some pictures, build and demonstrate your results. Presentation and acting out the dialogue
T. I see you like to move and play. You are active and sporty. I know you have prepared the presentation about sport in your life. So, let’s watch and listen.
P. We want to represent you our presentation as a dialogue.
T. OK, then task for all the pupils is to listen to it and think about good and bad sides of sport. Also prepare your cards with statements (Перед прослушиванием диалога учащиеся рассматривают утверждения для диалога в своих индивидуальных картах)
T. Before listening to the dialogue I want to give task to the first group. Your task is to mark sentences from the dialogue proving that sport is good. And for the second group- to mark sentences from the dialogue proving that sport is not good.
Speaking on the topic
So, what is your opinion about sport? Is it good or bad? (Каждая группа высказывает свою точку зрения, например: Sport is an important part of my life. I like to take part in sport competitions. I play in our school football team. I think that it helps me in different ways. First of all, sport builds character. It teaches to win and to lose. It makes you strong, fast and patient. More than that, it makes men out of boys and women out of girls. Besides, it is a good way to meet people.
I can’t say sport is very useful. It takes a lot of energy and time. Children often have no time for doing things that teenagers like doing. Sport needs hard work. As a result they have broken legs and arms. There is no good in sport, it’s necessary only to be fit. And for it there are PT lessons at all schools.

5) Rules and history of football
Football is an outdoor game for two teams of eleven players. The goalkeeper is the only person who can touch the ball with his hands, hold it and throw it. The other players can only kick or roll the ball. The referee makes most of the decisions and attempts to encourage fair play. The game starts off with a kick off and the teams are allowed to pass, dribble, juggle, head, kick and shoot the ball to place it down the field and into their opponent’s goal. The winner is the team with most goals at the end of the game.
Games similar to football were played in China as early as 400 BC. Egyptians played a kind of football too. They played games involving the kicking of a ball. In about 200 AD the Romans played a game similar to it. London children in about 1100 played a form of soccer in the streets. During the 1800’s the people of England played a game similar to football. In 19th century English football began to spread over Europe.
6) Rules and history of tennis.
The ball must be returned before it touches the ground. The hit can be made until falls on the ground or between the first and the second landing. The ball should fly over the net stretched across the court. If a player made mistakes, his opponent wins the point. The winner of the game is the player who received maximum number of points. It is the sum of points received during the tennis game, set or match.
Tennis or lawn tennis is Olympic kind of sport. The game with racket and small ball first appeared in Egypt. Most historians believe that tennis originated in France in the 12th century. The first tennis competition was held in 1877 in London. It was Wimbledon tennis tournament. After that many tennis clubs appeared. The four Grand Slam tournaments, also called Majors, are the most important annual tennis events. They offer the most ranking points and size of field, and attract the most public and media attention.
