CHRIS HINDS from Middlesbrough saw an amazing thing yesterday afternoon.

He was walking along the bank of the river Tees with his son Neil. It was a fine afternoon and they were enjoying the walk. In front of them, they could see a dog. It was sitting on the path. Chris could see that it had a broken leg.

When he and Neil went towards the dog, it tried to run away, but it couldn’t, and it fell into the river

The water was moving very fast and soon the dog was fifty metres from the bank.

Suddenly, Chris and his son saw a seal. It was swimming round the dog. When the dog’s head went under the water, the seal went into action!

It pushed the dog to the river bank. Then it swam back to the middle of the river and waited. Chris ran along the bank and pulled the dog on to the path. At that moment the seal disappeared.

Chris couldn’t believe his eyes. Той only see that sort of thing in Disney films, but I saw it in real life. It happened right in front of me!’ he said. T couldn’t believe my eyes!’
