Novopolotsk isn’t big but it is an industrial center. There are four large industrial enterprises in my town. They are the refinery works, the protein vitamin plant, the chemical works “Polimir”, the measuring devices plant.  The greater part of pollution certainly comes from industry and it is the main threat to nature. So we have the problem of air, water pollution. Cars and factories pollute the air we breathe. Our river Dvina is dirty and unfit for swimming. Sometimes we suffer from smog. But our local authority does everything possible to reduce air, water pollution. We are doing much to preserve the environment. My town is green. There are many flowers in it, our streets are clean.
