S
uggestion: At this point you could draw PP attention to the use of the imperative form in English when writing rules.
e.g. Come to school on time.
To speak politely and kindly others.
To look after our school inside and outside.
To say “wellcome” for all visitors.
To have quiet voices inside of school.
V. While-activity

Objectives: to enable PP to talk about school rules in their school and generally in Uzbekistan;to provide practice in reading for the main ideas.Ask PP to read through the rules/promises quickly and elicit any unknown vocabulary. Ask PP to read through the rules/promises again and decide if there are any that they would like to have in their school.
-Are there any that are not necessary in Uzbekistan?
-Which rules are the same as yours?
-Which are different?
-Are there any rules that you would like to add to your own school rules?
As a member of this school I will:
• listen when a member of staff is talking to me
• concentrate and allow others to learn
• respect people and their property
• wear the school uniform correctly
• come to school with an appropriate hair style and colour
• eat and drink only in the canteen
• walk in the corridor
• arrive on time

prepare everything for all lessons (pens, pencils, ruler, crayons, calculator, geometry set, English dictionary)
Hello! My name’s Steve. I’m fifteen and I’m in Year 11 at Estover Community School. Our school rules are very strict – but I think that’s good. We need clear rules!
Hi! I’m a junior at the Pleasant Valley
High School. Tenth and eleventh grade
students are called juniors, twelfth are
seniors. Look at our school rules. Do you
think they are strict?!
Suggestion: Grammar Exercise 2 gives additional practice in the use of “will” when promising.
In the UK on 31 December people make New Year’s Resolutions. They are promises to do things better in the new year. Write five promises you will make. Use the words in the cloud to help you.
e.g. I will make my bed and keep my room tidy.

rules in Uzbekistan and the USA.
