The only amber museum in Russia was opened in 1979. It is located on the shores of the Upper Lake in a fortress tower from the middle of the 19th century and is one of the cultural places of the city.

The World Ocean Museum houses the only remaining skeleton of a sperm whale. The skeleton reaches 17 meters in size. Soon the museum will hold a ceremony of farewell to the skeleton. Homlins are such funny creatures, masters of amber.Their bronze figurines are placed throughout the city at points of interest. There are five homlins in total so far. The grandfather homlin appeared in the very first summer of 2018 and stands right next to the cathedral on the Honey Bridge.
