REPORTED QUESTIONS (ВОПРОСЫ В КОСВЕННОЙ РЕЧИ)

• Образуется при помощи глаголов ask, wonder, would like to know и т.д
• Если вопрос в прямой речи начинается с вопросительного слова, то вопрос в косвенной речи тоже начинается с вопросительного слова (what, here, how, hoq many/much, when, why и т.д). Например, He asked what I was doing.
• Если вопрос в прямой речи начинается с вспомогательного глагола (be, do, have) или модального глагола (can, may) то вопрос в косвенной речи образуется при помощи if/whether. Например, She asked if I was doing my homework.

Do you like cheese? - He asked me if I liked cheese.

Were you at the concert yesterday? - He asked me if I had been at the concert yesterday.

Why didn’t you come to her birthday party? - He asked me why I hadn't come to her birthday party.

Do you eat fish? - He asked me if I ate fish.

Did you buy that car? - He asked me if I had bought that car.

Have you finished the essay? - He asked me if I had finished the essay.

Is he a doctor? - He asked me if he was a doctor.

How many computers do you need? - He asked me how many computers I needed.

Why are you laughing? - He asked me why I was laughing.

Have you met this famous singer? - He asked me if I had met this famous singer.

REPORTED COMMANDS, REQUESTS, SUGGESTIONS

• Указания, просьбы, предложения в косвенной речи образуются при помощи глаголов ask, advise, beg, tell, suggest следующими способами:
• To + ГЛАГОЛ : He asked her not to talk on the phone here
• ГЛАГОЛ + ing: I suggest reading this book
• Придаточное относительное с “that” : He suggested that I buy this shirt.
