Nowadays people understand how important it is to solve the environmental problems that endanger people’s lives.

Water and air pollution

• There is no ocean or sea which is not used as a dump;
• Many rivers and lakes are poisoned too;
• Polluted water also causes water animals to die;
• Factories and plants produce a lot of waste and pour it into rivers;
• Car fumes pollute the air;
• Releasing greenhouse gases into the air causes global warming;
• Polluted air and water affect people’s health.

Destroying forests

The huge forests help to control the world’s weather and to produce much of the oxygen in the air. Nowadays a lot of forests are so badly damaged that they will hardly be able to recover. Cutting down trees is destroying animals and birds’ habitats.

Wasting food

IS THERE ANY WAY OUT?

To solve ecological problems we should…

… switch off electricity when we don’t need it.

… pick up litter.

… throw away wrappers, plastic bags etc. using litter bins.

… build bird houses.

… plant trees and flowers.

… remember the 3 R’s : reduce, reuse, recycle!

… use solar panels, wind turbines, low energy lights, recycling bins, and double glazing.
