LESSON BRIEF

1. WARM-UP

Sport sounds to guess. Students listen to sport sounds and try to guess making sentences.

They do athletics, etc.

2. CHECKING OF HW

  1. Discussing of the home link.

  2. Tarsia-activity. In the groups. Checking and training of lexical material.

3. LISTENING

  • Discuss the athletes on the photos in pairs, using the questions:

Do you know this athletes? What sports do they do? Why are they famous for?

Photos on the board:

(From left to right) LeBron James, Harry Kane, Michael Phelps.

  • Introducing of new lexical material

Prelistening: Golden Boot, broke the world record, The Olympic Games. ex.2a- listen to two boys speaking. Are they boys sport fans?

Listening: Get feedback. Were we right?

Postlistening:

  1. ex. 2b. Listen to two boys, follow in the books. Try to start from the easiest words –read the sentences with word in bold- identify its part of speech by analysing its place in the sentences- go through the definitions to find the one suits best.

Putting marks.

REFLECTION- students stick their magnets into one of three squares. Every square shows emotions of famous sportsmen. The poster was hung on the board.
