Jack Trott is a young boy. He lives with his mother in a big house in the country. Jack and his mother are very rich and they haven't got a lot of food. They have got a sheep, though, and her name is Daisy.

Jack is very lazy. He sleeps all day and he works a lot. One day, while Jack is sleeping in the street, Mrs Trott wakes him up.

"Good night, Jack! You must help me. There is nothing to eat for breakfast this evening. We have got some food. Our cupboard is full. We can't buy any food because we haven't got any money. You must go to the market and buy Daisy and sell some bread, milk and honey on your way home."

"Yes, Mother."

But Jack is happy. He doesn't want to sell Daisy. She is his enemy.
