Cultural heritage of my village

 If you look through the history of ancient village of Karnak it has a history of 2000 years. It was proved by archaeological expedition. Investigation of the place where the village Karnak is situated began in 1947 by A.N.Bernshtam. it was South Kazakhstan archaeological expedition. In 1986 this place was explored by the expedition organized by the institute of archaeology and ethnology. This expedition managed by K,Baipakov.

  In 1999 it was an expedition managed by M.Tuyakbaev from Turkestan. According to the results of these expeditions the ancient name of Karnak was “Ishkent” and it was a town. The town was situated in the center of Karnak and nowadays it is called as a historical place “Bazar tobe”.

    In  XIX century there were 13 streets, 13 mosques and 5 religious schools. One of the historical religious school was Shammat-Ishan” which is a museum now. It was opened as a museum in 2005 on the 26^th of May. In 2008 in December it was rebuilt as a branch of  “Municipal museum of Kentau”.

   This mosque was built  in 1789 in order to educate the people of this village. According to sayings Shakhmukhammad Ishan get the religious  education from his father. It was said that he was well educated person. He began the construction of this mosque with the aim to educate people of the village.  At first it there was a cemetery , then a mosque. Later it became a religious school where the people can get a knowledge . In 1789 there was built small “Aksarai”. Under tha the small “Aksarai” there was underground mosque. The big “Aksarai” was not onlya mosque but the youth of the village can study there. The inside of the big “Aksarai” was decorated  with the eastern ornaments. In 1890 there were built supplementary rooms. In 1896 the construction of the mosque was ended.  Study in this school was continued till 1917. It was used as a orphanage till 1928. Then the building was thrown  till 1982. This time the inhabitant of this village, teacher of history Bektash Mirzaev was collecting the historical things proving that this village has a long history. He devoted all his life to the opening of the museum in this place and teaching the youth the history education. The museum was opened in 2005. Since 2009  according to the decision of the government , according to the project “Cultural legacy” this museum had been repaired till 2011.  

  This museum is the place of  scientific-exploration and cultural legacy of the country. The main aim of the museum is not only to guard the historical things but renew them. As our president says “ The role of the museums in our cultural life is very important. “ The exploration of  the history , to learn from its practice – is one of the tasks in bringing up the worthy citizens of our motherland.”
