Степени сравнения прилагательных в английском языке

Degrees of Comparison

Положительная степень — это базовая форма прилагательного. Именно в этой степени слово записано в словаре. Positive degree показывает, что объект или человек обладает качеством. Narrow (узкий), little (маленький), yellow (желтый) – все это прилагательные в положительной степени. Сравнительная степень/ Comparative Degree используется, чтобы показать, что предмет или лицо обладает каким-то качеством в большей мере, чем то, с чем мы его сравниваем. Превосходная степень / Superlative Degree показывает, что наш объект обладает этим качеством в большей степени, чем что-либо еще.

Для 1- 2 х сложных прилагательных достаточно добавить окончание -er

Comparative Degree многосложные прилагательные

Сравнительная степень для прилагательных длиннее двух слогов образуется при помощи слова more (более).

Superlative Degree

К коротким прилагательным из 1-2 слогов мы добавляем

окончание -est и добавляем артикль the в начале

Crocodiles and alligators

Crocodiles are  (ancient)  animals in the world. There are 25 kinds of crocodiles and their relatives on our planet nowadays.  (large)  of them is the Crested crocodile which lives in the south -east of Asia and in Australia. They are  (long)  (about six metres) and  (strong)  among their relatives, that’s why Crested crocodiles are  (dangerous).  Unlike other kinds of crocodiles, which live in lakes, rivers and bogs, the Crested crocodile lives in the sea.
