Scene 1

(музыка «начало сказки», на экране рисунок золушки)

N: Kind friends we now present before you

And hope we shall not bore you

A fairy tale about true love

And you can see this all above

You see poor little Cinderella

C: I’m crying ‘cos I’ve got no fella.

(песня «Same old love»)

N: Well never mind, do not look glum

And here comes your new step mum

SM: Now what’s all this?!

Get up and help your sisters Miss!

N: What a figure! What a face!

L: My name is Lilly

G: My name is Grace

Lilly: Now Cinders do me up right here!

G: No, come here Cinders, never mind.

About her buttons, do my hair!

N: So Cinders hurries here and there.

So, look, they’re ready for the ball

But Cinderella, feeling small

C: Dear Stepmother, can I go?

SP: A silly question! Of course NO!

N: And now they’re gone, and Cinders’ in her tears

C: I want to meet the Prince, to dance!

GM: My very Dear, here’s your chance!

I’ll wave my magic wand, and here

You’re ready for the ball my Dear!

(песня «Magic»)

But wait, the Fairy is not done

The Ball goes on ‘til half-past one

But don’t stay after twelve o’clock

Or else your shoes and lovely frock

Will change to rags. Now don’t forget

So off they go! You haven’t met

This beauty in a perfect gown

And here’s the ending of Scene one.

Scene 2

N: There is no interval you know

So we’ll continue with the show.

The stage will look the same as ever,

But please imagine, if you’re clever,

That we are at Prince Charming’s house

And hark! A dreamy waltz by Strauss.

The happy dancers are going mad

And only Prince is standing sad.

He’s standing gloomy near the wall

P: I’m gloomy ‘cos I’ve got no girl.

N: Well cheer up Price, two beauties come:

It’s Grace and Lilly with their Mum.

SM: Your Royal Highness really ‘oughter’

To dance with Grace, my elder daughter.

P:Tonight no one will dance with me

I’ve got a bad pain in my knee.

N: Dance with each other. Oh my hat,

I think we have enough of that.

(появляется золушка)

N: But who is this that now appears?

The guests are giving hearty cheers

P: Sweet lady, just one dance I crave

L: Cheeky hussy!

G: Saucy knave!

C: With you dear Prince I’ll dance till dawn

L: Well chase me round the Palace lawn.

(песня «Just one last dance»)

G1: I wonder who that girl can be?

G2: Well I don’t know

G3,G4: And nor do we.

N: The clock is striking twelve, oh pray,

Dear Cinderella, run away!

(золушка убегает)

But as she leaves, one shoe, size four,

Fall down right on the Ballroom floor.

The Prince runs forward, picks it up.

P: I bet, I will not drink a cup

Of tea, nor eat my morning keeper,

Until I find who owns this slipper.

Scene 3

N: Now for the last act of our play

We’re back at Cinders house, next day.

L: Oh my poor head!

G: Oh my poor tum!

L: I wish I hadn’t drunk that rum.

N: And here comes Mother with some news

SM: The Charming Prince wants wife to choose.

He’s come to try the slipper ducky,

Why shouldn’t one of you be lucky?

(сестры в панике прихорашиваются)

N: The trumpet sounds, the cannons roar,

The Prince is knocking at the door.

P: All the ladies at the dance,

Can try this slipper

N: What a chance

For these two girls.

G: Now come on Lilly

Take my shoe off.

L: Don’t be silly.

You’re far too old.

G: You’re far too fat.

N: Now Ladies that’s enough of that.

(входит золушка)

P: Oh let us go and try elsewhere,

But stay, who is in this damsel fair?

SM: Oh just an orphan working here,

She wasn’t at your ball I fear.

(принц подходит и меряет туфельку)

P: It fits!

L: It can’t

G: Oh what a chick.

N: The Prince and Cinders cannot speak,

Except to say to one another.

C&P: We’re happy ‘cos we’ve got each other!

N: Our play must end, the story’s done

I hope you liked this tale of fun

Our time is short and we must fly

And so from all of us

ALL: Goodbye!
