«В гостях у английской королевы»
I think you know it’s difficult to get to Great Britain because of the visa. And her majesty Elisabeth the II has come to us because she promised to help with the trip if we are successful in this kind of competition. Let’s greet our honorable guest.
Our pupils…………… will help her majesty to judge the competition. And we ask our teachers…………………………. to help them.
While our teams are thinking of the names of their teams, I want to say that they are going to demonstrate their skills, abilities and talents in learning the language.
There will be some rounds where our pupils have to share their knowledge with us.
So the first team……………
The second team……………
Ready????
The Sound Round
The sound of a plane
You can reach England either by plane, by train, by car or by ship. The fastest way is by plane. London has three international airports: Heathrow, the largest, connected to the city by underground; Gatwick, south of London, with a frequent train service; Luton, the smallest, used for charter flights.
The sound of Big Ben
Big Benjamin is the nickname of a bell that rings in the clock tower at the northern end of the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London, England. Officially, the tower itself is called the Clock Tower, Palace of Westminster. However, most people, including those that live in London, call the tower "Big Ben, because it is very large. It weighs 13 tons. Big Ben is the second bell in the tower. As a tribute to the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II the clock tower was renamed to Elizabeth Tower in September 2012.
The sound of a bagpipe
Bagpipes are a class of musical instrument that uses a reed, in addition to air provided by the player, to create a distinctive and melodic sound. The Great Highland Bagpipe is a type of bagpipe native to Scotland. It has achieved widespread recognition through its usage in the British military and in pipe bands throughout the world. Bagpipes are difficult to harmonize with other instruments; as a result, bagpipes are often played in small groups or bands made up entirely of pipes, or pipes and drums.

The HOLIDAY round – Valentine’s Day
Write a love poem.
What Love Is
Love is when that special someone kisses you.
Love is having someone to talk to.
Love is being romantic on that one day.
Love is happiness that is shown day after day ...
Love
Your love is a gift that I treasure more with every passing day,
As time goes by I find myself discovering more and more reasons to love you.
This Valentine's Day,
I'm thinking about how wonderful it is to have your love in my life. ...
and make a Valentine card.
- I think that we managed to pass all the tasks. Your majesty, can you help us to get to your country???
Yes. You are welcome.
But before starting your trip keep in mind these easy rules:
If you want to live in the Great Britain, you should buy an umbrella and rubber boots.
If you want to pass for an Englishman, you should talk only about the weather and respect the national Great Britain cuisine.
Do they like their national cuisine?
Yes, they do. Probably that’s why on weekends they like to go to Paris for dinner, to escape from their puddings.
Welcome to Britain.
To sum up. Do you think this competition was useful to you???
Certificates!!!!
