Конспект урока английского языка в 9 классе
по теме «Do you prefer books or films?»
( « Вы предпочитаете книги или фильмы?»)

Цель урока: формирование и развитие коммуникативной компетенции учащихся на основе изученных лексических единиц, речевых и грамматических структур по теме «Чтение».
Задачи урока:
Социокультурный аспект: знакомство с мнениями британских детей о том, что им больше нравится: читать книги или смотреть фильмы, знакомство с реалиями и фактами иноязычной культуры.
Учебный аспект: совершенствование речевых навыков, развитие умения читать/понимать на слух с целью полного понимания и извлечения конкретной информации, развитие умения вести диалог-расспрос о книгах, писателях и диалог-обмен мнениями, повторить правила употребления косвенной речи.
Развивающий аспект: развитие способности оценивать чужое мнение, формулировать выводы, развитие способности к объяснению, выстраиванию последовательности, формирование и развитие учебно-организационных умений и навыков (взаимоконтроль, навыки самостоятельной работы, групповой работы), расширение кругозора учащихся.
Воспитательный аспект: воспитание чувства ответственности за совместную работу, формирование способности к критическому мышлению, воспитание интереса и положительного отношения к чтению.
Оснащение урока:
Компьютер для учителя, мультимедийный проектор, экран, презентация (Power Point) , карточки с заданиями.
Формы работы: групповая, парная, индивидуальная.
Тип урока: комбинированный.
Используемые технологии: технология сотрудничества, коммуникативная технология, метод коллективного взаимодействия.
Ход урока.
I. Организационный момент.
Teacher : Good morning, my dear friends! I am glad to see you.
II. Введение в тему урока.
T. I think it is not easy to study at school. Every day we try to work hard but sometimes we should take a little rest. What can we do to have a rest?
Ps. We can do sports, read books, go to the cinema or theatre, watch TV, listen to music, play musical instruments.
T. There are a lot of leisure activities. What leisure activities are the most popular?
Are you fond of reading? Is reading only a pleasure or something special for you?
Who likes watching films? Who enjoys both reading and watching?

III. Ознакомление учащихся с целью и задачами урока
Today we shall discuss what is better: reading a book or watching a film based on the book . The theme of our lesson is “Do you prefer books or films?”
At first we shall revise some words, then we’ll work in groups, listen to people’s opinions, discuss books and films.
Let’s begin our work.

1.1) Развитие навыков чтения с целью извлечения конкретной информации.
T. Who enjoys both reading and watching?
Answer the question using reported structures.
а) Повторение правил употребления косвенной речи (с. 201).
б)Учащиеся слушают высказывания детей по очереди, следят по тексту и отвечают на вопросы, трансформируя прямую речь в косвенную.
P1. Dylan prefers reading. He thinks that books are much better than films, and there are more books with fantastic plots and well-developed characters than films. He says that you can take books anywhere and read them any time you want. He adds that books tell the whole story, and you can use your imagination, not like with films where you can only see it.
P2. Sean prefers films because films are more exciting. He says in a film you can get involved in all the action and actually feel like you are there. He is sure that books can be boring but films are so cool, colourful and wonderful, and you can sit and enjoy them. He adds you can also watch films with your family or friends, and you can all talk about it later.
P3. Liza thinks that both books are great. She says that books are more educational, informative and descriptive. But she thinks films are more fun and have more pictures. So she is not sure if she likes films or books better.
1.2) Проверка понимания содержания текста.

Учащиеся находят в высказываниях детей ответы на вопросы. Их ответы позволяют определить, насколько они хорошо ориентируются и понимают содержание.

Учащиеся выражают свое отношение к обсуждаемому вопросу.
Reading
Books educate and entertain us. Reading stirs my imagination, creates colourful pictures of the described characters and events in my mind.
Reading helps me learn more and perfect myself.
It helps to understand different people and cultures.
It helps to improve writing skills.
Watching TV
Watching TV is a popular hobby.
I am also fond of that.
I usually watch entertaining/ news/ scientific and popular programs.
I also like watching films. I have little spare time and that is why I prefer watching a film to reading a book. Watching a film is much easier than reading a book because you don’t have to use your imagination.
VI. Самостоятельная работа
1.Read the information and match the descriptions of some Russian films with their titles. (слайд 1)
2. Read the blurbs of some well-known English books and try to match them with the titles of the books. (слайд 2)

Развитие навыков диалогической речи. Составление диалога-обмена мнениями (c опорой на предложенные в учебнике сочетания слов, план организации дискуссии, упр.1).
T. Discuss with your classmates any film based on a book.
Учащиеся делятся на три группы, одна из которых отстаивает мнение, что чтение книги лучше экранизации, другая – наоборот, третья приводит аргументы в защиту как чтения, так и экранизации.
IX. Работа в парах
Развитие навыков диалогической речи.
Составление диалога-расспроса о книгах и писателях, фильмах.
Do you like reading books? What is your favourite film about?
Who are your favourite authors? Who played the main role?
How big is your home library? What is the plot of the film (book)?
Do you prefer books or films?
- As for me, I am like all my friends always impressed by films screened after a book. Moreover, I find it enjoyable to reread the book which I don’t remember very well to be able to compare it with the screen version.
X. Подведение итогов урока
We have spoken much about books and films. We have done many exercises. And I want to say that all of you have worked well today. I’ll give you only good marks. I think that today’s lesson was useful for you.
The English say : "Who knows how to work, knows how to rest".
